Rising daily from his casket bed, located deep within the catacombs beneath the Paris Opera House, the Phantom proceeds to terrorize all who dare enter the theater. But when he falls in love with a beautiful opera singer, it sets off an unprecedented reign of fright! Based on the original story by Gaston Leroux, the film also features Mary Philbin, Gibson Gowland and Norman Kerry. It is said that Chaney helped to devise his own creepy makeup for the part!
